Frequently asked questions

Do you have a question about a Newly product? Below you will find a list of Frequently Asked Questions. If your question isn’t in this list, please contact us. We would be happy to help you.

  • How high do I mount the rail?

The three wall systems R10, R20 and R30 can be mounted flush against the ceiling. However, there are other ways of mounting these. We actually recommend that you don’t mount the rail like this if your ceiling isn’t straight. If you do wish to mount the rail against the ceiling, use the enclosed drilling template which will ensure you always have the correct size.

  • How do I disassemble my Newly hanging system and then mount it elsewhere?

In principle, the rail is intended for once-only mounting. It is, however, possible to disassemble the rail and reuse it elsewhere. Take hold of the rail with two hands; hook your thumbs underneath the rail. Push the rail upwards by a couple of millimetres towards the ceiling. Tilt the top of the rail away from you, so that the bottom of the rail comes towards you. If you reuse the rail, we recommend you use a new mounting set.

  • What colour is the rail and is this available in other colours too?

Newly’s hanging rails are available as standard in RAL9016 or with a silver adonised finish. Would you like a different colour? That’s easy, as the rail has a special coating. Simply apply a colour of your choice to the rail – the rail does not have to be sanded beforehand.

  • In what lengths is the rail available?

Newly’s hanging rails are available as standard in lengths of 2 and 3 metres. If you require a longer rail simply connect the rails together. If you require shorter rails, shorten the rail using a standard iron saw.

  • How do I mount the Newly R70 Museum Line rail?

The Newly R70 Museum Line rail is mounted on the wall. A dowel and screw is placed every 40 cm. Mount the rail over the entire wall first and then install the cover cap.

Tips for mounting the Newly R70 Museum Line rail

    – We recommend mounting the rail over the entire wall first and then place the cover cap on it.

    – Start with one length and work your way to the other side.

    – Where the rails are to join together, we recommend using the factory saw cuts as much as possible.

    – When drilling, align the holes with the center of the rail holes.

    – Use the mounting plate to correct the height of the rail. The mounting plate has an adjustment range of 5mm to accommodate any drilling deviations. Slide the mounting plate left or right to correct. Tighten the bolt to fix it.

    – Thanks to the mounting plate, the rail can also be adjusted horizontally and the ends of two rails can be horizontally aligned.

    – Only after the entire wall is properly aligned and the bolts are sufficiently tightened, install the cover caps on it.

  • How do I install the cover cap of the Newly R70 Museum Line rail?

The Newly R70 Museum Line rail cover is clicked onto the rail. It is recommended that the seams of the cover cap not coincide with the seams of the rail itself. Disassembly of the cover cap is not necessary while the rail is in use.

Tips for fitting the Newly R70 Museum Line rail cover

    – We recommend placing the cover over the rail so that the seams do not coincide with the seams of the rail itself. The cover cap will then be co-aligned with the rail, allowing seams to fit snugly and preventing height discrepancies at the seam.

    – The cover is hooked onto the rail from the bottom and then clicked into place at the top by hand. Start clicking on the end and work toward the other side.

    – If the wall is not properly level, the rail may “wave” slightly with the wall when tightening. This may make it more difficult to snap on the cover. If necessary, use a plastic hammer to tap the cover lightly to lock it in place.

    – Make sure that the length of the final cover is correct before clicking it into place.

    – The cover is firmly fixed to the rail after it is clicked into place. There are a few reasons for this:

o Due to deviations in the flatness of the wall, there are also deviations in the straightness of the rail. The rail will follow the wall when the screws are tightened. Due to these deviations, there may be some stresses on the click connection.

o Due to the load on the rail from the wires (up to max. 70kg per wire), the rail will be able to bend/deform (minimally). This will also cause some tension on the click connection.

o The solid click connection prevents slipping.

  • Can I remove the cover of the Newly R70 Museum Line rail?

In principle, it is not necessary to remove the cover when the rail is in use. The cover is installed once.

Should the rail nevertheless need to be dismantled, the cover can be removed by prying it off from one side using, for example, a screwdriver or suitable pliers. After the cover is partially loosened on one side, you can continue to dismantle the cover from there to the other side. We recommend not reusing damaged parts.

In case prying loose from one side is not possible, a small hole can be drilled at the end of the cover. Screw in a screw until the cover itself comes up.
